Debra Frazer

Debra Frazer is a skilled and knowledgeable executive with unique leadership experience, gained through 35 years experience in the municipal sector, primarily in the role of Director General of Corporate Services, Ottawa Police Service (19 years).

She is the volunteer Vice-President of the Somali Hope Foundation, providing support in the areas of: business and strategic planning; financial management and administration; grant sourcing and reporting. She has been an active supporter of the Foundation since its inception in 2008, and has held the role of Vice-President since 2017.

A wise person once told me to dig deep and find my “genius”… the pursuit that lights me up, that brings satisfaction and peace. I found it in the work I do with the Somali Hope Foundation.
Each day I have the opportunity to work directly with a community in rural Somalia that is creating a new path for their children through education.

As we collaborate on projects I’m learning from smart people in Canada, in Somalia and across the globe about how education transforms lives.
The impact of our work together is measurable and will be longstanding.
